Desert trip from Fes to Marrakech 5 Days

Day 1 : Fes / Ifrane / Azrou / Midelt / Ziz valley / Erfoud / Merzouga Erg Chebbi :

Around 8 AM your driver guide speaking English will pick you up at your Riad in Fez We set of for Midelt through the Mountains and the cedar forests of the breathtaking middle Atlas. We pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort town and Azrou, an important handicraft centre specialised in the work of cedar wood. We will have lunch in Midelt.( In the Moroccan province of Midelt, an average of 190,000 tons of apples are grown each year. This is 31% of the national apple production. Midelt is destined for the cultivation of apple orchards over 7,456 hectares. Average yield per hectare is 25 tonnes. ) In the afternoon we will drive on to the small town of Erfoud and then into the desert where we spend night in riad front the desert dunes with swimming pool.( HB)

Day 2 : Merzouga Desert tour / Berber Familly / Gnawa music / desert Camp :

Breakfast in the riad and we will make an desert tour to discover to Rissani, the first Moroccan royal capital. You will explore the old palace of the king and the famous market place. You may go to explore the neighboring villages of Merzouga such as Hassi Labied, Khamlia where the gnawa musicians.You may also enjoy an offroad drive around the dunes of Erg Chebbi and visit the berber family living in tents in the desert. We will have moroccan thé with this familly and we explain you how they live… then we continue our desert tour to have nice picture in the panoramic view and we continue to merzouga where we will have camels waiting to take you into the beautiful Erg Chebbi Dunes, where you will spend the night in desert Camp. There you will enjoy a Berber dinner, and sleep in traditional Nomad camel hair tent. The silence and beauty of the Sahara will amaze you . ( in desert you have the possibility to spend night in luxury camp in desert with shower and bathroom). HB.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert / Rissani / Jorf / Todra Gorges / Dades Valley / Dades Gorges :

Sunrise early in the Sahara of Merzouga is the best time to enjoy the charm of the sahara. We will wake up early and have breakfast outdoors, before returning by camel to nearby hotels for a shower. Then, we depart to Erfoud, which is known for it’s fossils and geology. We drive through beautiful palm trees groves before stopping for lunch and a short walk in the amazing Todra Gorge To see the cultivated fields of spices we use for tagine and couscous.
A stream runs through the centre of the impressive rocky gorge, and you will walk amongst local vegetable gardens and towns. It is a great respite from the heat of the desert. After a walk we head to the dades Valley where we make differents breaks. ( Dades Valley, has been formed over the last 600 million years through the walls of the High Atlas Mountains thanks to the Dades River and for hundreds of years it is the main road between the desert and the ancient commercial oases of Tifilalt. Its lunar landscapes are scattered by numerous oases, palm trees and beautiful Kasbah, offering the visitor a spectacular contrast between the brilliant rock formations and the bright colors of almonds, figs, nuts and birches) . We spend the night in the dades gorges in a very nice kasbah.(HB).

Day 4 : Dades Gorges / Trekking / Rose valley / Skoura / Ouarzazate :

After breakfast in the kasbah front of dades gorge, we will take 2 or 3 hours walking in the Dades Gorge before departure for ouarzazate. The Gorge is a wonderful site, and you will be able to take many pictures of ancient Kasbahs and towns. We will follow the Dades Valley through El Kelaa Magona, the Valley of the Roses.
(During this time, the valley of roses welcomes so many people from the nearby villages that come to celebrate the "Queen of Flowers", all dressed in their best party clothes. Singers, flute players and drummers play their music on the streets to celebrate the election of "Miss Rose ) We Continue to skoura to visit the kasbah amridil. (The beautiful Kasbah Amridil lies in the Skoura oasis, inside a beautiful palm tree near the riverbed. Perfectly preserved and restored is perhaps the first Kasbah you should visit. There are numerous artifacts used in it when it was still inhabited ) then we head to ouarzazate. (Ouarzazate is a newly built and relatively modern town situated at the crossroads of the Dadès and Draa valleys. It bases its economy especially on tourism and the film industry. The latter uses typically Arab settlements and the characteristic desert and semi-desert landscapes that make the region fascinating. Using film studios nearby, several films have been filmed, including famous Hollywood productions such as "Lawrence d'Arabia" and "The tea in the desert". Among other films, including "Jesus of Nazareth," "The Mummy," "The Gladiator," and the film by Benigni, "The Tiger and the Snow", were partly made with the means and landscapes made available by this " Hollywood of Morocco "which is also used for television productions. Day 5 : Ouarzazate/ Kasbah ait Benhaddou / Telouet Kasbah / Marrakech :

After the breakfast in ouarzazate riad we continue To ksar Ait Ben haddou village Is one of the 9 sites in Morocco that UNESCO declared World Heritage. Ksar ait ben haddou is a tribal, traditional pre-Saharan Moroccan concept, consisting of a group of buildings built in 1600 with organic materials, including a rich red mud, enclosed in high walls where some families still live today. Ait Ben haddou was built on a hill in order to dominate the valley along the banks of the Ounila River at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. is featured many films like Gladiator, Lawrance of Arabia. We make the visit and lunch . We will then contintue to the high atlas mountains of Tizi n'Tichka, 2,260 meters, is the highest pitch in the country, and crosses the Berber village of Telouet, which rises on a colorful plateau between cultivated fields. The inhabited center is surrounded by high, windy, rocky, rocky walls that let you glimpse the fortified walls of dwellings between the earth.
