Around 8 AM your driver guide speaking English will pick you up at your Riad in Fez We set of for Midelt through the Mountains and the cedar forests of the breathtaking middle Atlas. We pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort town and Azrou, an important handicraft centre specialised in the work of cedar wood. We will have lunch in Midelt.( In the Moroccan province of Midelt, an average of 190,000 tons of apples are grown each year. This is 31% of the national apple production. Midelt is destined for the cultivation of apple orchards over 7,456 hectares. Average yield per hectare is 25 tonnes. ) In the afternoon we will drive on to the small town of Erfoud and then into the desert. We will have camels waiting to take you into the beautiful Erg Chebbi Dunes, where you will spend the night in desert Camp. There you will enjoy a Berber dinner, and sleep in traditional Nomad camel hair tent. The silence and beauty of the Sahara will amaze you . Sunrise early in the Sahara of Merzouga is the best time to enjoy the charm of the sahara. We will wake up early and have breakfast outdoors, before returning by camel to nearby hotels for a shower. Then, we depart to Erfoud, which is known for it’s fossils and geology. We drive through beautiful palm trees groves before stopping for lunch and a short walk in the amazing Todra Gorge To see the cultivated fields of spices we use for tagine and couscous.
A stream runs through the centre of the impressive rocky gorge, and you will walk amongst local vegetable gardens and towns. It is a great respite from the heat of the desert. After a walk we head to the dades Valley where we make differents breaks. ( Dades Valley, has been formed over the last 600 million years through the walls of the High Atlas Mountains thanks to the Dades River and for hundreds of years it is the main road between the desert and the ancient commercial oases of Tifilalt. Its lunar landscapes are scattered by numerous oases, palm trees and beautiful Kasbah, offering the visitor a spectacular contrast between the brilliant rock formations and the bright colors of almonds, figs, nuts and birches) . We spend the night in the dades gorges in a very nice kasbah.(HB)
After breakfast in the kasbah front of dades gorge, we will take one hour walking in the Dades Gorge before departure for Marrakech. The Gorge is a wonderful site, and you will be able to take many pictures of ancient Kasbahs and towns. We will follow the Dades Valley through El Kelaa Magona, the Valley of the Roses. (During this time, the valley of roses welcomes so many people from the nearby villages that come to celebrate the "Queen of Flowers", all dressed in their best party clothes. Singers, flute players and drummers play their music on the streets to celebrate the election of "Miss Rose ) We Continue to skoura to visit the kasbah amridil. (The beautiful Kasbah Amridil lies in the Skoura oasis, inside a beautiful palm tree near the riverbed. Perfectly preserved and restored is perhaps the first Kasbah you should visit. There are numerous artifacts used in it when it was still inhabited ) then we head to ksar Ait Ben haddou village Is one of the 9 sites in Morocco that UNESCO declared World Heritage. Ksar ait ben haddou is a tribal, traditional pre-Saharan Moroccan concept, consisting of a group of buildings built in 1600 with organic materials, including a rich red mud, enclosed in high walls where some families still live today. Ait Ben haddou was built on a hill in order to dominate the valley along the banks of the Ounila River at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. is featured many films like Gladiator, Lawrance of Arabia. We make the visit and lunch . We will then contintue to the high atlas mountains of Tizi n'Tichka, 2,260 meters, is the highest pitch in the country, and crosses the Berber village of Telouet, which rises on a colorful plateau between cultivated fields. The inhabited center is surrounded by high, windy, rocky, rocky walls that let you glimpse the fortified walls of dwellings between the earth.
